too easy. but it was still fun

this is one of those games where i want player packs...

i know thats a lot to ask for, but i like this game, and it has great potential. if somehow you can... you should definitely make one!

man quite a challenge!

I always have high expectations for bullet games like these.

My biggest complaint is that I would have had at least a 3 second shield after being hit, moments after being hit by a laser I would suddenly be hurt again, this may perhaps be due to keyboard control as its harder to control and is easier to get hit this way, if you could add a mouse control option this may not be of concern. Otherwise a temporary shield so I can recuperate slightly and get away.

I agree with everyone else about getting money, although it wasn't extremely difficult it did take quite a while to get a single upgrade, for this I recommend making it easier to get money then adding many more upgrades, its very thrilling to save up for 3 upgrades that you really needed ever so badly.

The music did get a little boring after a while. But shit its a hard game so I had to find my own music anyway naturally.
All in all I would consider it very worth while. Learn from this so you can make fantastic games!

a little to easy for me...

It is a good game and a good concept. but im craving harder levels. i suggest a level creator followed by a user created player pack. also... the freedom allowed in this game is what makes it so easy, if you had x amount of moves per level that would make for a challenge. example, level one you have 5 moves to complete the level, if you can beat it in 3 moves you get 3 stars.

other than that, its a decent game
keep up the good work!

not bad at all

It deserves a higher score...
anyways, I enjoyed it enough to try yo beat level 5. The controls are a bit wishy washy (overly sensitive one time not enough in other instances). I wouldve enjoyed better music (this game involves somebody moving fast so I wouldve picked more fast paced beats)

Other than that Its a great game, well drawn characters and concepts!

Overall a worthwhile game!

9/10
2 things I have to say. (I couldn't make anything like this so I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt.)

I would have either made the top section easier, or the bottom section HARDER (I suppose I'm referring to the mutations). Basically I had one foolish struggle on the top path, and blazed thru the bottom path. If you don't I would designate the bottom half EASY and the top HARD. I can't Count you down for that I'm sure this wasnt your intention at all!

Also... I quite often died at the hands of the pointer going of screen, so with that the only thing I can think of is an option to switch between arrows and mouse, OR to add a full screen as to not allow my mouse to get off track. That my friend, is the only thing I can count you down for!

Other than that its obviously an impressive game, I keep coming back to play it again!

Thanks mate. The thing with the top / bottom paths was that I wanted the top one to be more for the shooter fans ( It's the way I prefer ), and the bottom path to make killing the baddies harder but you have more protection.
Either way I want people to be able to complete this, it shouldn't be some nasty endurance test, there's no fun in that.

As to keyboard control, it's something we looked at, but we'd have to ease the ship around, otherwise it'd feel clunky, but then you lose a lot of the accuracy the mouse gives you. Mouse control gives it hopefully more of a casual feel, along with auto-fire. With the controls, and the difficulty, we were trying to make a bullet hell shooter that isn't just for the hardcore.
Oh, tried full screen mode, ran like a dog, we lost about half our frame rate.

Thanks again for the review mate.

This my friend, is amazing.

I'm not sure if an idea like this has been executed, but I must give you props for the concept. If you can find a way to turn this into an online multiplayer with a level maker, you might just make the next best game!

I myself would've chosen a darker setting that would appeal to us older people, the current theme gives me the impression that its a "childs" game, but I can't count you down for that.
Great Work!

just... wow

I'm Thoroughly impressed by this. Although everything, even existence itself is just a theory, I can tell there was time, dedication, and a lot of effort put into this.

Great Job!

usually, id write reviews of criticisms...

but fact of the matter is, you guys had less time to make this...
so as much as i want to criticize you guys for much the same complaints everyone else has given you... you were under pressure thanks to the game jam, and for that i congratulate you, it was a worth while effort

very unique in its own way...

I do have to give it a 9 since its got its similarities to other games. But I can't argue that this one requires a little more "skill" at certain points. If you wanted to make this more challenging I would remove the rockets and air gliders, a large combo of both helped me get 1:01:56! I couldnt have done that since the glider gives me a shitton of slams and the rocket gives me a big burst of speed!

Nonetheless I consider this game really good despite the "cut n paste" feel!

fast game indeed

I have no real complaints honesty...
I would hope to see a more challenging longer version that always required things in a certain order, to me it felt like i could just click everything on screen and proceed.

I apologize if I'm mistaken, but good job nonetheless! :)
